Well I guess young people can be proud of ourselves. More college age people went out to vote. The reason we did was not because a specific political party got us there, but because we organized ourselves. I just hope that now we get some attention paid to causes that will effect our lives. Regardless of who is in office. (Though I'm less than happy about that.)

I just hope that Bush realizes for this next generation to help the country out of the economic slump that we're in we need several things.
1. Jobs. We can't help if we don't have money.
2. Help with student loans. I can't really justify spending much money until I have them paid off. (I guess that's not really a concern he can help me with, but those younger than me can be helped.)
3. Have I said Jobs yet?
4. A solution to the social security problem. I will spend less money if I know that I have no help from the government coming in my later years. I will be saving it and thus not putting it into the economy.

Yes, it's true that as a group, we voted at the same percentage as 4 years ago, more voters went to the poll than last time. Also, we were one of two groups that did not have less people voting.
I just hope we can get listened to. We're the next generation. We're the hope for the future right? We're about to take over. Somebody better start paying attention, and in return, we'd better start exhibiting behavior that warrants such attention.
