Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Please be safe tonight!

Ypsi New Year for Me

Well kids, looks like it will be an Ypsi New Year for this girl. It's cool, I think it's for the best, this way I don't have to drive all over the world, and Jon gets to see Dre more. So, if you're going to be in apt. 200 this evening, I look forward to seeing you there. (Oh, and if anyone reads this before the big event, let me know if it's still a formal deal! Call me, or just leave a note on the tag board. thanks!)

Well, this New Years is going to be interesting. The first one in quite some time alone. Not alone as in without other people around, but alone. You know what I mean. I think it'll be ok. Well, I know it will.

In other news, there is no one in the office today. I really think there are less than 15 people in the whole place. I know that right now in property management, it's just me and lynn. Accounting usually has 11 or 12 people, and now there are 3. It's kinda crazy. Feels like a ghost town or something.

Well, that's all for now. Maybe more later, we'll see what I feel like.

Just in case this is it, have a safe and happy New Year everyone!!

Well, Boo.

So, I designed the page on my dad's notebook, and it looks great. Now that I'm on the desk top, it doesn't look as wonderful. I don't really feel like spending all day long attempting to fix it, so if anyone has anything that could help, let me know!

It's Alive!!

Well, what do you think?? I'm finally done, I think it looks alright, but what do you guys think? Anything I can fix?

Oh, and I finally decided, I'm headed to Indy to celebrate the New Year. It'll be something different, which will be nice. I do feel a little bad, I mean, I was the one that came up with the semi-formal idea for the party, but I know everyone will have plenty of fun without me!

Merry (Day after) Christmas

Hope everyone had a great day yesterday! And if you don't celebrate, I hope you had a nice day off work! Anyway, I got a digital camera (Yahoo!!), so maybe I'll post some pictures here every now and again.

I had the weirdest dream. That I was having my first Mi Phi meeting as president, and I totally screwed up. It was so weird though, it was in a parking lot, and all of these alumni and people that aren't a part of Mu Phi showed up. I was trying to appoint people to committees, and it just wasn't working out. It was so bizarre.

They closed the Southfield office today, so I didn't have to go to work. I've done absolutely nothing! It's been great, but I think tomorrow is more of the same, I'm gonna have to find something to do!

That's all for now, maybe more later, and maybe I'll finally get my new design finished. (And BOO for my counter getting messed up! I can't figure out why I've only got 7 people and the number design changed!)

You Are Love
You are Love.

You love life, you love all those around you and
the world that you live in. You are happiest
when you are doing something for someone else
or for the common good of mankind.

Sew Buttons

on ice cream

This is just something my dad used to say to us when we were little. Ever time we said, "so" he would say, sew buttons on ice cream. It doesn't really make sense, but I still say it every now and then.

So that's the story of sew buttons on ice cream.

Everybody else is getting cosmetic surgery...

So why shouldn't my blog? I'm looking for a new look for the page, but not really sure what I want. I mean, I kinda dig it right now, but I think it's time for a change.

Don't know what I'm doing for New Year's yet, road trip or Ypsi. Hmmm decisions, decisions.

And Mike, I do check often, normally. Just not this week. Thanks for being nice!!! ;)

Oh yeah, and I forgot to post this nice little message that I got the other day, from a kind of secret, but not really admirer:

just saying hello
and you're amazing

It's this dude that got a sop spot with Southwind, but didn't march with us during the summer. (the reason he's secret is cause I really don't know much of anything about him at all) It made me smile and was kinda funny. I just wanted to share it.

grrrr....

Yup, that's it. Just Grrrrr.

And in other news...

First, they caught Saddam. Sweet for that!

Second, I think someone should have a black-tie, formal new years eve party at their apartment. I think that would be fun. Does anyone agree??

The truth. So great, so bad. Well, at least I can start to get past this. All I really wanted was the truth, good or bad. Thank you for giving it to me. It's been quite a ride, thanks for everything.

You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness, I'm in debt to you
For your selflessness, my admiration
For everything you've done, you know I'm bound
I'm bound to thank you for it
La-la-la-la...
You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness, I'm in debt to you
And I never could have come, this far without you
For everything you've done, you know I'm bound
I'm bound to thank you for it
La-la-la-la...
Oh, I want to thank you for so many gifts you gave
The love, the tenderness, I wanna thank you
I want to thank you for your generosity, the love
And the honesty that you gave me
I want to thank you show my gratitude

There is no spoon

Don't you hate those days where up is down, and down is up? You can't think and want everyone to just give you the answers, but not just any answers, oh no. You only want to hear the answers that you've already made up in your head. But if you already have these answers in your head (and they're all that you really want to hear anyway), why even ask the questions? Ok, sorry, I just went a little Matrix on everyone...

I'm so confused. I know what I want. I have no idea how to get it. Sometimes, you just want things to come to you, but you have a feeling they may not. You also have a feeling that if you went after things, you'd get this thing that you're after. But, as I've said, you really don't want to go after it. Hmmm.....

I guess only time can tell.

SW Kids!

Be careful! Have fun! I love you all and will see you in January!! (And I'll be on the road for a big chunk of time this summer!!!)

I miss everyone so much. It's weird not going to audition camp, and not weird like last year. Last year when I didn't go, I knew that I would be right there in January going through the hell with everyone. Now I know I'll be there in January, but there will be no hell. Good and bad. At least I get to help this summer!!! And I might get to sit with the most rockin' seat partner again this summer!!!

And while we're on the subject of Southwind, check out Zach (baritone) and Zoe(guard)! I got to march my 2 years with these two wonderful souls, and now they're linked!

Eric is headed up here tonight. I wish he were going to be here for longer, it might be kinda fun to hang out.

Kinda weird when things don't go as you thought they would. Not bad, maybe not good. Just weird. That's pretty much where I'm at. Weird. Not sure what to think about things, not sure how to act. I think I'll get over it, but this is gonna take some time. Sorry to be so vague, like I said, things are weird.

This song is so right in so many ways right now.

Now and Forever, by Carole King

Now and forever you are a part of me
And the memory cuts like a knife
Didnt we find the ecstasy
Didnt we share the daylight
When you walked into my life

Now and forever Ill remember
All the promises still unbroken
And think about all the words between us
That never needed to be spoken

We had a moment
Just one moment
That will last beyond the dream
Beyond the lifetime
We are the lucky ones
Some people never get to do
All we got to do
Now and forever I will always think of you

Didnt we come together
Didnt we live together
Didnt we cry together
Didnt we play together
Didnt we love together
And together we lit up our world

I miss the tears
I miss the laughter
I miss the day we met
And all that followed after
Sometimes I wish I could always be with you
The way we used to do

Now and forever I will always think of you
Now and forever I will always be with you

If anyone from SW reads this, please don't fight with each other. Understand that Cap Sound is in more pain than you can imagine. When I went to that meeting in Madison and heard the words Southwind will have to be liquidated, it cut like a knife through my soul. And those were just words, not actions. Josh's words made me cry. We are not a sinking ship at all. And if we are the titanic, isn't the capitan supposed to stay on till the very end, show's what a great leader he has been. I've kept my mouth shut until now, but great job Josh. You really showed everyone respect this summer, and made sure that you earned the false respect you were given. I really did try and defend you at times this summer, but no more. You have proven by your words that you do not think of me as a member of your family, even so, no matter how distant a cousin you are to me, and what I think of it, you are a member of mine.

This all (coupled with other events that I won't share here) has made me so sad. Please, we are a family in mourning. Don't yell at each other, that is the last thing we need.

Amazing how your world can change so much in just one day. Don't you hate those days where you lose just a little more faith in the rest of the planet?

Always thinkin'

I think too much. Most of it is just stupid crap that I'm worrying about inside my head, but some of it is good. For example...

I just did something. (Nothing terrible! You know me!) And at the time I thought that it was the right thing to do. It certainly made me feel better. Sorry for being cliche, but it was as if there was this weight gone from me. But now, I'm not so sure. (this is the kind of thinking that I do, it just going round in circles in my head.)

The next thing on my mind...

Sonic. Wow. It's just beginning to dawn on me how great it is to be a part of that. They say that when you age out of a drum and bugle corps you will never have that feeling of a crowd screaming for you again. Well, I got it. And since there's only 17 of us, I knew that they were in fact screaming for me. I began to think of this since it has recently begun to dawn on me that I really never get to march again. That was really it. This summer's show is going to go on the field without me. But for now, I have Sonic to fill that void. And I get to quasi live out my dream of being in BLAST which is great. And all from the brain of someone who "hates drum corps."

Anyway, after that small, and possibly disorienting journey into my mind, it is time for me to get some sleep. Good night and sweet dreams to everyone!

One last funny thing. Well, more annoying that funny really. My apartment walls are very thin. This year I think we are at war with our neighbors. And yet again tonight, that battle rages on. Take cover if you can.

I hate disappointment. Disappointment and homework.

I hate it when I get so worked up over something, and then nothing comes of it. I am left feeling let down, over something that I knew, somewhere deep down was not going to happen anyway.

*Pausing to breathe*

Anybody? Answers? Is this a general girl thing or just me? Building things up in my head and then being let down by something that was never really there. Sorry for the ambiguity and the total lack of sense.

By the way... when ya'll leave comments, can you tell me who you are? Please!
